WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

HomeWELCOME TO MY BLOG!

JUL 27, 2025

Through this blog, I aim to educate and raise awareness about psychology and human factors —topics we all encounter in our daily lives. Our minds are dynamic therefore, it is never too late to learn, and to adapt to the dynamic situation of our world. Let’s strive together for understanding and growth!

Who am I?

My name is Gayle Arendsz, and I was born and currently reside in Aruba. I hold a Master of Science degree in Cognitive Psychology from Leiden University in the Netherlands. My academic background has given me broad expertise in various areas of psychology, with a specialization in Cognitive Neuropsychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Human Error.

I have over 10 years of experience in research and policy advising. During this time, I have worked across various departments within the Government of Aruba, including the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Department of Labor and Research, and the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce, and Industry.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mother to a precious 10-year-old girl. Whenever I have the time, I enjoy snorkeling. In addition to snorkeling, I love hiking and horseback riding. I also have a creative side—I enjoy painting and dancing. With a curious mind, I also like to learn from other cultures and travel whenever it is possible.

Throughout my career, I have shared my knowledge of psychology within organizations and departments, consistently aiming to elevate both work processes and the individuals I collaborate with. I am now looking to continue this work on a broader scale.

Through this blog, I will offer insights into a range of topics and indicate when I am available to provide workshops or sessions, if appropriate. Topics may include stress, driving behaviors, human error, ergonomics, and more. One of the first topic covered in my blogs is stress, a common issue that affects almost all of us and can lead to many other health problems. Another blog post focus on Driving Behavior, especially relevant in our car-dependent community where the accident rate is high. These are just a few examples of topics you will expect to see in my blog posts.

My blogs are designed to guide individuals and organizations through a variety of interesting and insightful topics. If you’re looking for more in-depth information on a specific subject, feel free to send me an email—I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

The purpose of these blogs is to help elevate our thinking and behavior. When it comes to creating behavioral change, I can support you. Feel free to contact me for possibilities.
